“If you haven’t got any charity in your heart, you have the worst kind of heart trouble.”
[Excerpt taken from:http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/]
As Fall settles across the landscape, the majority of us retreat to a cozy place to warm our bones. Remember when you were a kid waiting for the bus to come with your buddies? Someone would laugh and a giant puff of steam would fill the atmosphere. There was something mystical about seeing your breath against the morning air. All that warm oxygen being pumped thru our lungs and heart. Truly fascinating!
I have to admit, I still like seeing that steam pouring out of my mouth on cold mornings. Taps a part of my brain that reminds me how fortunate I am to have food, shelter, and a warm place to hang my hat at the end of the day. Makes me stop for a moment and say a prayer for those I’ve met along the way who haven’t. Brings me to a place of true thanksgiving and charity.
So, if you have a moment today, connect with your heart and practice charity. Maybe you’ll hold the door open for a family at the grocery store, or let someone in the line of cars in backed-up traffic, give a kind word, or make an on-line donation to Children Hospital… have your ‘heart connection’ and decide for yourself 🙂
Pass it on!
