Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving and are ready to kick off the Hanukkah and Christmas seasons.
Being in the Pacific Northwest, I really enjoy the turn of the seasons from Fall to Winter. The leaves in my yard have all fallen off and made their way into yard waste bins. And our Koi fish have officially been weaned off their feeding schedule until next Spring. Time to head inside and cozy up!
Yes, my favorite thing to do at Christmas is to put up our tree. Last year we purchased a fabricated 7 foot tree from our local nursery. It looks so great all done up with twinkle lights and nearly 100 ornaments (am sure some of you can relate!) The cats have seemed to not be that interested in it. It does put off a romantic glow in the front room. I love it!
Next week I’ll start tackling wrapping of small gifts for our girls. They will make their way in the stockings on Christmas eve. Thankfully I had made a couple purchases during various sales throughout the year and “hidden away” these goodies for Christmas gift giving. (I really should do more of this…)
For those of you looking for small stocking stuffers or gelt-giving ideas, feel free to visit my Etsy page. I’ve got a couple special Holiday only items for purchase under $10 and $15.
Looking back, it’s been a whirlwind of a year. It’s been nearly 10 months since my last posting. Where has the time gone?
Most of my week’s time has been spent working for one of the PNW’s oldest “start-up” company – Nordstrom. Huge in the retail business and quickly becoming more noticed in the technology scene. My Talent Acquisition co-workers and I have been putting great people to work in the IT side of the house with fervent energy. I stepped into an office downtown near Pike Street Market (see picture – taken out of a window on the 11th floor) last August. Our building has beautiful views of downtown Seattle. Taking public transportation into work really cuts down on wear and tear on the vehicle – and it allows time to read, make new acquaintances, and get a bit of exercise walking from the bus stops.
Wanna-B-RockStar has been keeping pace. Am offering up Inventory pricing on Etsy sales thru July 7th. Take advantage of the Coupon Code CHRISTMASINJULY to receive 20% off your purchase! Email me if you don’t see what you are looking for. A few of my regular Wine Charm sets (i.e. Seattle/PNW, Alaska, Texas, Hawaii, Idaho, Alice & Wonderland, Garden, and Beach themed) that are not listed on the site; but I will still honor the coupon code thru July 7th.
Hope you have a great Summer Solstice! Keep tuned for my next posting.
Question of the day… Are you ready for School to start?
I know I am!
We’ve had two young girls bouncing around the house with loads of energy and a high propensity to be in all sorts of business. We’ve participated in swim lessons. Sold treasures at our Community Garage Sale. Packed (and unpacked) the car for Art Shows. Made our way to the Wild Animal Game Farm in Sequim, WA to feed bread to the deer, llamas, and bears. Took multiple swings of the tennis rackets on several local tennis courts. Broke in the new Bicycles. As well as visited the library for “Splat the Cat” books! Our latest adventure together was school clothes shopping. Am surprised our youngest did not wear her favorite outfit to bed last night 🙂
Am not ready to completely dismiss Summer for Fall, but am willing to present a “Welcome” sale for those of you who need a treat!!

In this day and age, having one’s photography more readily available thru on-line venues (stock photography, Etsy, photo providers, etc) is essential. Not only does it help boost credibility but lends to expanding the bank account when you least expect it!
Lately I added digital downloading to my photography Etsy account. Even tho my sales show low numbers, I’ve had several requests off-line for my photographic items. The competition is fierce with photography. Some photographers have fantastic work and make lots of $$ selling photo cards, prints and framed pieces. The majority have great items mixed with OK. What I’ve come to realize over the years is that no matter how good of a photographer one is, we all want someone to appreciate our work. But let’s face it, we all can’t have our mother’s buying all of our inventory! All I can do is to strive to improve my images and what I let the camera lens see.
I’ve been posting a lot more to flickr than Etsy, simply because of ease and time. I struggled with the concept of Digital Downloads – was it a sell out to the almighty dollar at hand instead of selling the actual print at a gallery or show? Would I loose inventory control?
This weekend – June 6th – you can find me down at the Artist Garage Sale in Everett from 9am until 3pm. [This is a FREE event – but a fundraising event is from 8am to 9am with early bird tickets.] Print this post out to receive a FREE Artisan Photo Card from my inventory!
Take a peek at a few Digital Images posted on Etsy. If you see anything you happen to like, let me know. Yes, it can be for sale. Feedback always welcome. ~Enjoy!
Wahoo! It’s Spring. How many of you are feeling ready for the new-ness of the Season? Did you plant any tulips or daffodils this winter? I’m super excited to watch the new growth come up.
I’m enlisting in your help! Can you take a moment to vote for your favorite item? Once I have 100 votes, I will randomly pick a winner to award an item of their choice off my Etsy site – so spread the word!!
As I watch several episodes, my thoughts wander to traveling. Oh how I love to travel. Traveling to me is food for the soul. New sights, new smells, new perspectives. And I love to document travel thru photography.
Over the past 30+ years of taking pictures, I can literally catalog thousands of pictures taken all over the world – Europe, the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, Canada, Mexico, and all over the United States. There’s nothing better to catapult me back into the moment. It’s so true what has been said about a picture is worth a thousand words. Below are a few of my favorite pictures.
Am super thankful for the invention of better cell phone cameras. Now my husband has joined me in the photographic adventures. Our last trip to Hawaii going snorkeling has me thinking about more under-water photography. Stay tuned for that expansion. Set us loose on the world, baby!
Take a look a the re-launch of the Photography Etsy page and let me know what you think!
